This paper builds on the last two papers presented at the Symposium by Arthur Skuratowicz and address several of the more prominent comments offered on the survey forms after the 2000 Symposium. The goal is to review the major stones used in jewelry and give specific characteristics of each stone and its imitations that allow identifications to be made. The stones and their simulants covered are diamond, ruby, emerald, sapphire, pearl, peridot, aquamarine, amethyst, tourmaline, topaz and turquoise.
